Hi, I’m Tracey!

I am a naturalist, educator, and artist based in Northern California. I am interested in how humans fit into our neighboring ecosystems, and how we can create positive change within them.

It has been my great joy to host CritterCam for NorCal Public Media. These 1-minute episodes utilize footage of wildlife from California’s parks and open spaces to teach children about their wild neighbors. CritterCam can be found on YouTube, seen on Northern California PBS stations during the children’s edutainment block, or accessed directly from Norcal Public Media.

I am presently involved in a research project led by Dr. Tracy Misiewicz. We are investigating the adaptation of Protium subserratum (Burseraceae) to different soil habitats. I use R programming language in conjunction with other software to model habitat suitability for different ecotypes of the species. Our initial findings on the topic were published in Ecology and Evolution.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered as an intern at Wildlife Center of Silicon Valley (WCSV). At WCSV, I worked hands-on with over 100 different California native species. I have had the privilege to work with raptors, small mammals, and songbirds throughout the rehabilitation process.

Let’s chat!
